GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an All India entrance examination conducted by 7 IITs & IISc on behalf of the National Co-ordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, MHRD, Government of India. It is conducted by a different institute every year among the 7 IITs and IISc. GATE is conducted in 21 disciplines of Engineering. A GATE Score is valid for two years and is considered for admission into M.Tech programmes of prestigeous institutes such as IITs, IISc, NITs and several other renowned Institutes in the country.
